Postnatal Groups
Tea Groups
If you are a mum-to-be or have recently had a baby then our tea groups may be just the thing you need. You will meet mums living in your area who may be new mums or mums with two or more children. Most mums will have babies around the same age as your own.
The HINCT tea groups are free to NCT members and non-members alike, and each group is run by a different volunteer co-ordinator. The first group meeting takes place either in the co-ordinator’s home, or a local park cafe, and then it’s up to you and the other mums to arrange subsequent meetings to be held as often as you like, wherever you like. We just act a bit like a dating agency for mums!
The groups are separated into six distinct geographic areas based on postcodes:
- E5
- E8, E9
- N1
- N4, N5
- N7, N19
- N16
All you need to do is either send an email to teagroups@hinct.org.uk or telephone 07005 860 131, to register your interest. We will need your name, phone number (preferably landline) and postcode, so we can then put you in contact with your local co-ordinator. Widen your social network, have some grown-up chat and sign up for a tea group today.
Caesarean and Vaginal Birth after Caesarean (VBAC) Group
Are you facing the possibility of having a caesarean? Have you had a previous caesarean and would like to pursue the possibility of having a VBAC? We would like to establish a group that can provide encouragement to mothers as they endeavour to get the birth they want. The group will be led by a mother who has had a caesarean and VBAC delivery. It will be an opportunity to discuss concerns and issues around a forthcoming labour and birth or explore feelings after birth in a supportive and neutral environment.If you are interested in finding out more about the group or would like to help in establishing a group, please send an e-mail to birthmyway@hinct.org.uk
